Tiger Opens !!!

Nathan and I Left the Lower Tiger Parking lot/ Pond Area (I Always can Tell what the trails will be like by the amount of water in the Parking lot Pools) around 11:15. The weather was beautiful and everything seemed nice. It was great to get back to Tiger. We headed Out NW Timber and it was fairly dry. The Retaining wall that BBTC has been working on looked great and we soon arrived at the end of NW Timber. Very nice ride. We Saw a Wild turkey on the way over to Preston and that was a sight as I have never seen a wild turkey and was quite afraid as the number of his brothers that I have cooked in my kitchen is staggering! Anyway, We arrived at Preston and took a small break and then Headed up. I forgot to mention that Nathan was on a Single speed and was Just amazing! Preston was in great shape and the New work Looked great on the trail. There were four Tree falls on the way up that either need to be cleared or were placed there on purpose. I don't know? Other than those trees everything looked like it was draining very well. I've seen Preston wetter. We arrived up top and Took a small break and Than continued to head back down the way we came. I was On my Nomad and Nate on his SS and we were Flying. The Nomad was amazing and really loved the New bike. Preston was slow in places due to water and mud but Bone dry in others. Great time for 4 miles and we headed over to Nw Timber to Finish the ride. The Sun was out and it didn't Rain. It was great to get back to tiger and we had a great Time...Total Miles around 17 and nothing but good Times!!!

Rainday At Tolt!!!

I really think that When you Put your bike on the Car to go on the ride you are signed up for that It some how offends the weather Gods! Not 2 minutes after the act it started to rain. I was still going as the Doppler showed just a small cell. Got to love the Internet!
When I arrived there was no one there. But after a few minutes Doug, Travis, and Shane arrived. But After 20 minutes none of the other riders had shown so I called Mr. A our ride leader and he had canceled the ride due to rain. Maybe this was a sacrifice to the Rain Gods as it stopped raining within minutes. The four of us headed up IAB and regrouped. Only having rode here 40 or so times I felt that maybe now I can lead the way. We started off with the Time Trail Course and All was well. The Trails were in great shape and the pace was fast. Travis then Led a few trails, Mystery, Oxbow, Schafer Both Ways and than Doug Led Some, Bear Claw Both ways, View Point, Bob's and We Did some others. We had a great time and missed all of the other Usual Tuesday night riders. Total Ride Time around 2 hours and Just under 11 miles. No rain the entire Ride and we only used our lights at the end of the ride. Missed you E... These rides aren't the same without you.

On a Side note. I picked up some new platforms to replace my Specialized Lo-Pro Mags on the Nomad. Thanks Downhill Zone for suggesting these awesome pedals, the Speedplay Drilliums. After tonights ride I was so Impressed. Super Stiff, Large Platform and Super GrippY. The Specialized Lo Pros will go back on the Stumpjumper for the GF as we just got here some riding gear so she can ride. She was a little spooked with clipless pedals.

I also Stopped by Fluid Bikes in Shoreline, Washington to check out there store. Zeb the owner was a great guy and the shop was geared to Freeride and Downhill. I picked up a new pair of 5.10 Impact Shoes to have a second pair on hand. These shoes rock for Platform pedals and with the new speedplay drilliums they are amazing!!!

Galbraith and Some Time Off!

Well, I have been working quite a bit and got some time off Finally. Took a Trip up to Bellingham, Washington to Ride at Galbraith Mtn. I have been there once before and really enjoyed it. We arrived at the Parking lot for Galby and There were 13 other riders waiting. It was not raining but had been raining for a while before we arrived. We hit the trails and The mud we encountered! Up the ridge trail and I knew what we were in for. We hit Cedar Dust and I lead the way. Cleaned the Rock on CD and Rode the skinnie that Scared the shit out of me last time. We continued on and rode some other trails. I crashed really hard on the Hip at Wonderland and what an awakening. Glad I had my armor and Full Face Helmet on. I took a picture of Justin on the Big Drop at wonderland and it turned out pretty good. I also Crashed on one of the Drops on another trail. I slammed my head into a tree pretty hard but the helmet took it all and I was fine. The Mud on the trails was sooo slick!! When I came off of the Drop I landed but when I put the Brakes on the mud was so slick my bike drifted into some trees. We got a little lost but found our way to Bob's trail and I again led the way down. It was great and I hit everything on it. Fun Times were had and I thank Erik "wrong way Trail" A. for such a good Time. E, you have been a great friend over the last year and I hope we can ride many more rides in the future...
