WoooW!!! What a day. Trails were super buff and real TACKY. Verylittlle Mud and about 6 hours of Ride time.. I think everyone knocked off some personal "hurdles" today. Super fun and tons ofsessioning. We rode Ridge trail, Cedar Dust, Top of Evo, Scorpion(some rode evo) Pump track (twice), Mullet, 911, and upper and lowerBobs. 911 was fantastic and real buff. Almost cleaned the Long Skinnie on 911 but missed it by 10 ft. We must have sessioned 911 for an hour and hit the big drop to kicker like four times! Pumptrack is super packed in now and super fast. Bobs was amazing also. Great time girls and guysthanks for a great ride and the dinner at Lychee was Great..Pic is of Polo BOOSTING at the top of evo.. Only one I got today as my batteries died right after this shot

Janette and I headed up to Whistler for the First time this year. We shared a Condo at Glaciers Reach with Brent and Silvia. Stayed three nights and rode two. Picked up my season pass and was ready to ride Saturday morning. The sun was out and the trails were in great shape. I really Love Whistler. It is Such a great place with and very large selection of terrain. Got home Monday and got to bed early. Overall great trip, Not much traffic and was really glad that Janette got to see whistler for the first time! Great to also see so many people up there from Seattle. Here is a pic of Brent hitting the Big Joyride drop. We are heading back next weekend for some more action. Janette got to ride some of the XC trails with Silvia and really had a great time. We found a Campground for next time that was real nice and only 10.00 bucks per night. This should make the trip quite a bit cheaper. The Honda fit that we got for Janette did great with all of the gear and the Gas mileage was awesome. We brought alot of our own food and tons of beer :) so it was pretty economical for us. Canada is known for expensive staples like food, beer, and Gas so being able to make the trip on just over a tank was great! Like I said earlier there were a ton of people from Seattle there and almost 15 people from our listserv group. A bunch of people got season passes also this year so it should be more of the same whenever we go up there. Here is a picture of Tracy on Crank it up. I did not get a chance to take any pictures but thanks to Julie for the ones included in the Blog. Had a great time with everyone and can't wait to get up there again real soon.

So Port Angeles was a Blast..Galby Was Great and bought a Season Pass at Whislter...2008 Is Looking Awesome for a good Season.... I have been riding the Road bike five days a week and trying to get "back". Been 8 Weeks and it's is really on as far as commuting . On a side note I sent the Shock from the Stumpy and the Sunday to PUSH for a revamp and it should be back in a week or sooner. It will be nice to ride a XC bike on XC trails after riding my FreeRide bike for so long. The Nomad weighs almost 10 lbs more than my Stumpy and with the CrossMax wheels almost 12lbs...Quite a difference. The Sunday Kit from PUSH is also suppose to be completly dialed in and AWESOME! I have had great luck with PUSH and can't wait to see the outcome! Full Armor Picture from Port Angeles...

Back to PA and Galby Next Weekend and here are some recent Photos!!
This is a video that my buddy Larry Took at South Seatac Flow ride Park!!! His new Vholdr Helmet cam is awesome and should capture quite a bit of our season at Whistler this year. I already put away the funds to get a season pass and there are bunch of other buddies of mine getting one also...Should be a great season!!!

I have also been riding and training quite a bit lately and have dropped about 18 pounds..! Still have a way to go as I really got Lazy and need to "Tone" up. I am down to 193 pounds and that is good but would really like to hit the 175 mark in the near future. Well , nice to get the Blog back in action and stay tuned for a new blog on my cooking and recipes from my everyday life as a chef.

Well it's been almost a year!!! Finally got my old account to activate.

Now let me update my life...Bought a condo in Bothell, commuting on the Bike from seattle to bothell and Bought a Full blown Downhill bike..I am really making the transfer from cross country to freeride and down hill. I've been to whistler and it is amazing!!! The Down Bike is an Ironhorse Sunday woth a FOX 40Rc2 and really rocks!!! I did two Shuttle days out in Port Angeles and they were awesome!!!

Here is my Latest report....

This was my fourth ride at Galbraith and by far the Best. Justin B, Daniel and I headed out under Sunny skies, Dry trails and by far the the best Stunt conditions I've seen there. I'm sure many of you know that the ridge trail is now rerouted through a neighborhood and still a grind to get up. I really sucked wind on my free ride rig and it was sunny hot!! We rode Cedar Dust and sessioned all of the goodness multiple times. No quick cross country ride through this time. Pure tech fun. Up Daryl's Death Climb and through Kung Fu for some more good times at least for some of us. We headed up to the towers and regrouped. Thanks guys for waiting for my slow ass. Then it was on with a local tour guide to get us to the best freeride goods that Galby had to offer. Evolution with it's drops and the Rollercoaster Giant Cedar to Rollercoaster to Huge kicker and Scorpion's new trail extension and long ladders, Gaps, and drops with "SUPER STEEP" Switchbacks . Then it was off to the New "Pump Trail with multiple doubles, berms, and booters with a few log rides thrown in...The Log ride at the end when it's complete will be sick. Super smooth and tech....Then off to Mullet for some cross country to freeride fun...Great trail with lots of great tech and a suspension bridge for an overall fun time. The next trail was 911 with some bridges, Tech Logs, mid size Booters and Drops and overall fast, Hold on to your pants great times...This Trail ROcks... Traversed back to CedarDust, ate shit on one of the Ladderbridges, and ended up at the Entrance to Bob's.
Bob's was in the best shape I've seen it, Super fast, Great tech..Awesome drops and overall Greatness...What a way to end a great trip at Galby...This Place rocks and this loop was amazing!!! Going back next week if anyone wants to come...Drop me an email!!

Riding to Work..

So it's about 17 miles to ride to work. So with the great weather the last few days I have brought out the roadbike and been riding to work. It's been great. This saves me a boatload of money on Gas and Parking and I really like the workout. The bus ride home at 10:37pm is a breeze and my gf picks me up at the park and ride 2 mi's away from our house. 5 days a week of this and I should be in prime shape for the summer! On a side note, I have to take my vaction all at once this year so I will have to do my big rides on monday and tuesday this year but not a problem. The trails that I want to do I feel good doing solo or with one or two other riders.

Weekend on the Island...

Returned to Fort Ebey for a weekend camping Trip. Finally some more great weather. My GF had the weekend off and I really wanted to get her out for a nice camping trip and her first mountain bike adventure. WE stopped at the Diamond Knont Brewery before boarding the ferry for a growler of there wheat beer. Highly recommended! We also stopped at Whole Foods Super Market for some eats for the trip. This place is simply amazing! Being a Chef they have everything that I could imagine! Seafood, Meats, Cheese, Deli, Produce and the List goes on. The Beer selection alone is worth going here. Everything is Top notch! We finally arrived at fort ebey at quickly set up camp. After 3 years of camping with my GF and some 100 or more days of camping(no joke) we have this down to a science! She set up the tent and I got the bikes and kitchen ready. We then headed out on a adventure at Fort Ebey. This was her first ride and I was quite impressed. She was abit timid on the root sections but rode most of them. Some of them I was quite surprised that she cleared! She did great on the climbs and loved the downhills. Overall I was very impressed and she had a great time. We arrived back at camp and were quite Hungry. Dinner was to be quite easy for me but great none the less. Some Organic Grapes, Black Peppercorn Brie, Cullen Porter Cheese, Sagkit Genoa Salami, Rosemary Flatbread, Fresh Baked Ciabatta, Saison Dupont Farmhouse ale, Golden pheasant Lager, and a knife to cut it all!! What a way to finish the Day. The cheese was amazing. The Beer the Best in the World! We had a great time and turned in to a great night of sleep. We took a quick ride in the morning and enjoyed sights of Eagles and the smell of the ocean. What a great trip.

Rat Pac!

In the Little town of Roslyn, Washington on the East Side of Snoqulamie Pass is a Trail System Called Rat Pac. My Good Friend Erik has always spoke very Highly of this trail system with it's Fast Flowing singletrack to it's high Berms and Compression Drops. There are also some elevated features, Ladders, Stunts, and Jumps. So 22 riders leave the parking lot in Roslyn and head up to the Top of Rat PAc. It was really hot and being that were not used to the heat here in Seattle the sweat was pouring from body. I decided to Bring the Nomad with New MAxxis Minion UST Tubeless Tires. These tires are super Sticky and at 2.5 they are also super wide and very heavy! I also opted to bring the Full Face Helmet, Full Pads and my Downhill Backpack. There were some pretty Tough hills and I really noticed the 38-39lbs of the Nomad and had to push rather than ride more than a few times. We finally get to the top to regroup and Pad Up. We than head into the trails. Real nice with lots of flow. Bob B, Brad, and myself led the charge and were really hauling. Bob and Brad are awesome riders and we were having a great time. This being my first time here the stunts would come up real quickly leaving not much time to see the other side or check them out. There were a few stunts that I would not hit but most I would on a second time around. I did however clean about half of them. The compression jumps were real nice and the high berms were really fun. The Jumps were small to Medium but real fun with the Gap over the Log being the Best. The best part about this trail is there are ride arounds for all of the stunts so riders of all abilities can ride here. The Last Stunt was a Skinnie Bridge (about 10 inches wide) over a ravine. To come off of the Bridge would mean a 10 foot drop to the bottom, not something that I wanted to experience. So as I rode into the Feature my mind took over and before I knew I was over the Bridge. Smooth as silk and I really nailed it! I love the feeling of accoplishment after riding such difficult features. WE that proceeded to head back up a looooong Fire Road to the exit trail and Rode Back down to the Parking Lot. The Last Trail was very fast and we really enjoyed ourselves! Thanks Erik A for a great ride and also for driving! Your new truck ROCKS!
